Wilmot Works It Out
You may remember Wilmot from the warehouse. Now we get to see how he spends his downtime in Wilmot Works it Out. Help Wilmot complete puzzles he receives from his puzzle club and hang the completed pieces on the wall. It’s all pretty straightforward, though you do occasionally receive extra puzzle pieces with a similar design or colour palette to the main puzzle you’re working on. This makes it a bit more tricky to piece together.
I enjoyed completing a season (An entire set of puzzles. Each season takes around a week in Wilmot’s life) of the game each night, and seeing what silly designs we received that week. It’s also lovely being visited by Sam the Postwoman each day to keep us up to date on what is happening in the neighbourhood.
My only issue is that we don’t get to engage or interact with Sam or the neighbourhood. She’ll mention things Wilmot did, but we don’t get to do them. She asks him to parties but Wilmot never responds, so you never really know if they actually did anything. It would have been great to have a few choices of responses, so it didn’t feel like Sam was talking into the void.
I’d also like if you could turn the completion time off. At the end of each season, it shows how long it took you to complete it. It always made me feel like I had to rush, so I could beat a previous time. I would definitely have played more relaxed without it.
Overall though, I had a good time and especially liked unlocking and decorating other rooms of Wilmot’s house.
