Each month I pick an awesome game with an active Kickstarter campaign to feature on the site, this month that game is Everafter Falls. Everafter Falls is a farming sim with a huge amount of variety in crops, animals and activities to do. All wrapped up in a cute art style.
After dying on earth, you wake up in Everafter Falls to find out that your entire life was a simulation. With no memories of Everafter Falls, you need to re-discover the village and what your life was like. Fortunately, you won’t need to do this alone as you will have your adorable pet companion to help you on your way as well as the animal inhabitants of the village. Yup, in Animal Crossing style, everyone else is an animal. That also means you won’t be falling in love any time soon.
The Kickstarter page tells us that you used to live a serene and peaceful existence, but doesn’t explain why you’ve been living in a simulation all this time. I’m sceptical about this peaceful existence, but I’m intrigued enough to see where it goes. Mystery aside, Everafter Falls does seem very wholesome, so maybe I’m reading too much into it.
Everafter Falls is a farming sim with a considerable amount of crops, trees and mushrooms to grow. Currently, there are 42 different fruit and vegetable crops to grow with the possibility of even more to come! You can also expect 5 – 8 different animals to raise with alpacas already confirmed. Does farming all this sound like a headache? Well, you will have help! There will be tools you can build, your pet can dig and water crops, and there are mysterious pixies to help with your tasks. Did I also mention there is fishing? No? Because there is also fishing!
Love the sound of this but noticing the lack of combat? The dungeon is the place for you. Slash your way through the multiple levels and kill a multitude of monsters to gain materials and items. Not a lot has been released about this yet, but it looks like it’ll be similar to the mines in Stardew Valley.
Everafter Falls is super cute. Everything about it is cute! With vibrant backgrounds and adorable-looking characters, you’ll be enjoying adventure while looking at beautiful backdrops. Then there is the soundtrack which is quite reminiscent of Stardew Valley, with uplifting tunes to get you through your day.
If you like farming sims, I recommend giving Everafter Falls a look! I haven’t even mentioned crafting, quests or character customisation here, plus there is the delightful post service run by penguins Pip and Pepper. They use carrier pigeons to get the mail out to everyone. This game just oozes charm! If this looks like something for you, be sure to check out the Kickstarter now!
