• April indie game release Hundred Days

May 2021 indie game releases – part 1

May is an excellent month for indie game releases. That means we’re splitting the releases into two again because that went pretty well in April. This month there is a nice spread of awesome games all through the month. Here are my picks to try for the first half of May: Hundred Days – Winemaking Simulator Website | Twitter Genre: Farming sim, simulation, management sim Platforms: PC (Steam) Release date: 13th May One hundred days. That’s the amount of time it takes for a vine leaf to complete its life cycle. Nurture it through the seasons, looking after your soil and prune to get the best drop of wine you can. Every…

  • October Indie Game Releases - I am Dead lighthouse

    October 2020 indie game releases

September flew by with a plethora of awesome games, and October looks to be the same. The October indie game releases are plentiful, varied and interesting and, as always, I’m looking forward to many of them! Because there are just so many great October releases, I’m going to be separating them into two posts! This one features new releases from the first half of the month and the other will be releases from the second half of the month. This will also allow for any sneaky mid-October release date announcements!

  • KeyWe - mailroom with Cassowary Couriers

    KeyWe – First look

Run, jump and butt-slam your way around in KeyWe to get the mail out to the people (or maybe other kiwis?). Help out Jeff and Debra as they jump, dash and peck their way through the post office as they transcribe telegrams, send letters and parcels, and all sorts of other post officey things. KeyWe is a couch co-op game but can be played through Steam Remote Play if you want to play it with online friends. It works well as a co-op game and is far less chaotic than something like Overcooked. At least in the demo. The trailer shows more complexity as the levels progress, like having to…

  • The beautiful world of GRIS - a combat free, storytelling game

My favourite combat free games of 2019

I love when a game’s story, graphics and soundtrack are so atmospheric and engaging that combat isn’t required to make it exciting. Games that I can play and not have to consider why I’m beating up everything that moves. 2019 was an excellent year for non-combat indie games, with some garnering huge audiences (hello Untitled Goose Game) and a bunch of awards. It awesome see these types of games gaining more popularity, so I thought I’d share my five favourites for the year. The Stillness of the Wind Website | Twitter | Steam Platforms: PC, Nintendo Switch & iOS, Genres: Adventure, atmospheric, story-rich The Stillness of the Wind is a…
